🏥Industry and Current Challenges
Plastic surgery is a rapidly growing industry, with millions of people worldwide seeking procedures to enhance their appearance and boost their self-confidence. From simple procedures such as Botox injections and dermal fillers to more complex surgeries such as facelifts, rhinoplasty, and breast augmentations, the demand for plastic surgery continues to rise.
Korea is widely recognized as the global leader in the plastic surgery industry, with the country being home to many highly skilled cosmetic surgeons and advanced clinics. According to the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of cosmetic procedures performed in Korea has increased steadily over the past few years, with over 1.9 million procedures performed in 2020. The industry's growth can be attributed to technological advancements and growing consumer demand for increasingly safe, accessible, and socially normalized cosmetic procedures.
Despite this increasing demand, choosing a clinic and obtaining accurate information on procedures and pricing remains a significant challenge. Consumers often struggle to find trustworthy and reliable information on the quality and reputation of clinics and spend considerable time traveling to various clinics for consultations and evaluations. This offline research process is expensive, time-consuming, and intimidating, especially for first-time customers unfamiliar with cosmetic surgical operations.
